miko cosplay

We really like cosplay, but usually we just kinda came and watch people or taking pictures and not wearing cotumes ourselves. There are many reasons I guess...

Well, chu hasn't been in high school back then (kinda too young I think) and I'm not yet ready to spend sooo damn much money on those costumes.

But now that chu is in high school already and I finally managed to cut some expenses on manga (I read mangascan most of the time now, I used to buy the printed one, I got like thousands of em at home), movies, anime and some other stuff, I decided to start cosplaying for real. As for chu, being in high school means she can start collecting fund for cosplay from english competition's prize money.

So... we need to start somewhere...
And somehow we heard about HVP (Harajuku Visual P...*something*...I forgot :P). But the problem was we got the info kinda late so we only have less than two weeks to prepare and we haven't even decide what kinda costume we're gonna wear!

So... we're kinda thinking for about 3 days (what a waste of time really...) and chu came up with the idea of just doing original or something since we're short on time. We both decided to wear miko costume.

I have a pattern to make yukata (thanks to a friend of mine from keio, Hisae-chan, who sent it to me last year) so we can make the white clothes. The problem was on the red hakama. Its kinda complicated and we haven't really got time to do some brainstorming on how to make it so... we decided to make a red skirt and combine it with obi.

Well, it was like... I mean that was the first time in my whole life I learned how to sew. And its a yukata (its kinda complicated on the sleeves) of all clothes! Ukh... I barely managed to make it in time. As for chu, my mom helped her so... (ukh, you really gotta do it yourselves next time chu!!!)
this is kinda our first costume and these are some of the pictures
